The Plough Inn at Brackenfield - A 16th Century listed building and former farmhouse near the village of Brackenfield on the edge of Derbyshire’s Peak District. The Inn serves value for money traditional Coaching Inn fare, with a modern twist, and guests can choose to dine in the large bar area, which offers three distinct levels, the Orchard Restaurant, or the ‘Potting Shed’. The Inn caters for weddings, celebrations and business meetings, as well as more intimate dining. There is an excellent selection of real ales, locally sourced micro-brewed ales, fine beers and wines, with an excellent cellar. The Plough is situated a few miles from Matlock and Alfreton on the A615 road.

Dining at the Plough
The Orchard Room Restaurant appeals to guests who prefer a more traditional dining experience -
The room is decorated with tapestries and autumnal fabrics, complemented by authentic cheese presses, antique brassware, an open wood fire with iron and cauldron, and the warm patina of aged wood; very much in the style of a rustic farmhouse.
Though part of the same building, the main Inn area offers the same excellent cuisine but in a less formal setting - Guests can enjoy one of many secluded spots in the lower dining area near an open fire, a smaller ante room off the main bar, or opposite the bar for those who like to beat the rush! In warmer weather you may like to dine al-fresco on our patio, shaded from the sun by a large umbrella.
The Inn serves good honest food with hearty portions, and has an additional private dining room called the ‘Potting Shed’, which can be booked exclusively for family parties, business meetings, etc.
Should your requirement be a conference, a wedding, a celebration, or an important private lunch or dinner, the Orchard Room and the Potting Shed are open all year round.
